Commentary on Job 3:3 (Summary)

Job 3:3 (ESV)

3 “Let the day perish on which I was born, and the night that said, ‘A man is conceived.’

Job curses not only the day of his birth, but also the night of his conception. That is the main idea of Job 3:3–10. In Job’s curse he personifies day and night, as if they are able to speak (Job 3:3) or wait (Job 3:9).
