1. 1 Peter 3:8 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the significance of the word “finally”?

1 Peter 3:8 (ESV)

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

The term indicates that Peter is summing up what he has said in this section of his letter, from 1 Peter 2:11 onward. So we expect nothing new in this section but expect instead a conclusion as he ties together what he has written.
