The circle is now complete. Psalm 21:1 reads, O Lord, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your salvation how greatly he exults!
With this extension in Psalm 21:13, the joy has spread from the king to the people. They have reasons to praise God. First, they recite a strong prayer: Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength
(as in Psalm 21:9: a blazing oven arises when he appears), then joining together, they promise to sing songs to the Lord, to magnify him. All the people rejoice because of the Lord’s help to the king. They sing of his mighty deliverance.
13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.
