Often the clouds are depicted as “convenient vehicles for transportation through space but clouds are a regular feature of biblical theophanies (the appearances of God or the revelations of God’s glory); the divine glory is veiled in clouds, shines forth from them and retreats into them.”1
17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
