Why did the manna stop?

Joshua 5:12 (ESV)

12 And the manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the land. And there was no longer manna for the people of Israel, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

God’s miraculous provision of food by means of manna and quail came to an end because Israel was no longer in the wilderness. Now the Lord provided for them from the fruit of the land. The ending of the manna signified the entrance into a new period of redemptive history.
