The country of Gerasenes lies on the eastern shore of the lake of Galilee. Until recently there has been a village named Kersa (Arabic), which is 1.6 kilometres removed from steep hills and tombstones that are in proximity to the Sea of Galilee. Kersa is therefore a strong candidate for the site of ancient Gerasa.1
