How did Jesus become king of the world?

Matthew 4:9 (ESV)

9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”

Through his resurrection, and after paying for our sins, Jesus became King over the whole world. This is how he seeks to acquire that honour. He earned that position through his obedience and love for God. He is the true image of God (Genesis 1:27): in God’s name King over the earth.
