Why does Peter mention “tasted”?

1 Peter 2:3 (ESV)

3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

The concept of taste builds further on the analogy Peter has been using, with the terms born again, newborn infant, crave, milk. Peter is aware that the infant has come to enjoy the taste of his mother’s milk, and wants more.
