1. Judges 11:32 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What do the opening of words of this verse resume?

Judges 11:32 (ESV)

32 So Jephthah crossed over to the Ammonites to fight against them, and the LORD gave them into his hand.

The opening words of Judges 11:32 resume the closing words of Judges 11:29. This clearly indicates that the vow was an interruption to Jephthah’s movement from being given the Spirit to his victory in battle.
