Silver, gold, and purple were used to cover and decorate the palanquin (ESV: carriage). This was a contribution from the people. The young women, the daughters of Jerusalem, took great care of this. It seems that this was a wedding gift from them for King Solomon. He is now coming to Jerusalem on this royal palanquin.
10 He made its posts of silver, its back of gold, its seat of purple; its interior was inlaid with love by the daughters of Jerusalem.
